The Russian service of the BBC learned what the executive director of Rosneft Igor Sechin said at a closed meeting on the case of former Economic Development Minister Alexei Ulyukayev. The journalists managed to get acquainted with the testimony of Sechin set out in the document. Their authenticity of the TV and radio company was confirmed by three sources familiar with the case materials.

According to the Air Force, Sechin at the trial described how Ulyukayev extorted $ 2 million from him during the BRICS summit in Goa on October 15, 2016. According to Sechin, Ulyukaev approached him and "asked him to give him a prize in connection with the successful privatization" of the shares of " Bashneft ". Rosneft acquired a state stake in Bashneft in October 2016 for 330 billion rubles.

The request aroused Sechin's surprise, it follows from the documents. "When making a request for a prize, Ulyukaev explained that he did not need to quarrel with the minister, indicating the amount of the $ 2 million bonus, offered to prepare this amount and call him on readiness," Sechin said in the court's ruling.

 Sechin did not react to Ulyukayev's request, and after returning from business trips, he noticed that Rosneft was under pressure, it follows from his testimony. As evidence, Sechin submitted a letter from Ulyukayev on the privatization of Rosneft, in which he allegedly threatened to disrupt the deal. Having received the letter, Sechin "understood about the principled position taken by Ulyukayev," and on the same day he told about the extortion to the head of the security service - the vice-president of the company Oleg Feoktistov, follows from the testimony of the head of Rosneft.

Zamoskvoretsky court in Moscow in December last year found Ulyukayev guilty of taking a bribe of $ 2 million from Sechin. The ex-minister was sentenced to eight years in a strict-security colony and fined.

The main witness of the charge, Igor Sechin, never appeared at the trial. He first came to court in April, when Ulyukayev appealed the verdict.
