Rosneft filed a lawsuit for 89 billion rubles for the consortium "Sakhalin-1"

"Rosneft" becomes a professional extortionist in the Russian market: the company demanded 89 billion rubles from the consortium. It was for this amount that oil flowed from the Chayvo field on Sakhalin from Rosneft to Sakhalin-1.
Rosneft filed a lawsuit for 89 billion rubles. to the consortium "Sakhalin-1", follows from the file of arbitration cases. The dispute concerns the flow of oil within the Chayvo field: the northern dome of the field belongs to Rosneft, and the central and southern to the consortium. Rosneft believes that oil migrates to the consortium site, where production has been in progress since 2005. The operator of the Sakhalin-1 project Exxon has already stated its disagreement with the suit.

"Rosneft" filed in the arbitration court of the Sakhalin region a claim for 89 billion rubles. to the participants of the Sakhalin-1 Consortium. The consortium includes its operator Exxon Neftegaz (30%), the structure of Rosneft itself, Sakhalinmorneftegaz-shelf and RN-Astra (cumulative 20%), Indian ONGC (20%) and Japanese Sodeco (30%).

The essence of the claim is not explained, but the documents state that Rosneft needs to submit a copy of the agreement on the preparation of the products of the North end of the Chayvo deposit dated September 18, 2014, "which is referred to in paragraph 9 of the legally binding preliminary agreement to the balancing agreement with overflows. " The first meeting is scheduled for September 10.

Thus, we are talking about the flow of hydrocarbons within the Chayvo field. The bulk of the field is part of the Sakhalin-1 consortium, but its northern dome, the so-called Northern Chayvo, went directly to Rosneft. Production there began in 2014 using the infrastructure of Sakhalin-1, but in 2017 production fell sharply - 1.7 times compared to 2016, to 1.4 million tons. Then Rosneft ordered DeGolyer and MacNaughton to conduct an independent assessment of oil and condensate flows between North Chayvo and the Chayvo deposit, Sakhalin-1.

Exxon Neftegaz said that it was in the course of filing a lawsuit, but they do not agree with the claims of Rosneft and will take measures to protect the rights of the Sakhalin-1 consortium.
