The head of the Rosselkhoznadzor Sergey Dankvert turned to the police with a statement about slander and false denunciation because of the accusations of the Polish company of extortion. This was reported to reporters by the adviser to the head of Rosselkhoznadzor Yulia Melano.

“We inform you about filing an application with the Moscow Main Department of Internal Affairs about the crime committed and bringing the perpetrators to justice for defamation and knowingly false denunciation,” Melano said.

Dankvert’s lawyer will be Anatoly Kucherena, a member of the Public Chamber and chairman of the public council at the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Charges of extortion against the head of the Rosselkhoznadzor, according to the REN TV channel, citing a source, were voiced by a representative of the Polish company Mlecovita. The company accused Dankvert of extorting a bribe of $ 500 thousand for lifting restrictions on the supply of products. In addition to Dankvert, according to REN TV, his deputy Konstantin Savenkov was among those involved in extortion. A lawyer by the name of Suzdaltsev appears in the application as an intermediary. According to the source of the channel, businessmen say that negotiations on a bribe took place in November last year in a restaurant on Presnenskaya embankment.

The Rosselkhoznadzor denied these allegations. “Talking about the resumption of deliveries of products from enterprises located in countries that have fallen under counter-sanctions has been inappropriate since 2014,” Melano said, recalling the Russian food embargo imposed this year.

The leadership of the Polish company also officially denied the evidence that Dankvert demanded money for the admission of Polish products to Russia. “The leadership of Mlecovita is not familiar with Dankvert and has never met with him,” said a company representative.

At the same time, on May 28, the Main Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Moscow announced that it was indeed verifying the statement of a representative of a company engaged in the production of dairy products about extorting a bribe for lifting restrictions on the supply of products of this company to Russia. The official statement of the leadership that there was no extortion, the police promised to take into account.
