According to the investigation, in 2015, the actual beneficiary of the bank, Vladimir Romanov, created an organized group, in which he involved the president of the bank Svetlana Pozdnova, employee of the credit department Anton Ganeev, as well as Tamara Chernyshova and "other unidentified accomplices."
During the year, the group members, deceiving the officials of Rinvestbank, who are responsible for issuing loans, ensured the issuance of non-performing loans for 1.3 billion rubles. The money was issued to 15 legal entities that did not carry out real economic activities and were controlled by Chernyshova.
The actions of the participants were qualified under the article on particularly large fraud (part 4 of article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). “At the same time, Romanov and Pozdnova were detained and, at the request of the investigation, were taken into custody by the court. Ganeev, who fled from the investigation, has been put on the international wanted list, and the court has chosen in absentia a measure of restraint in the form of detention, ”the release says.
Chernyshova actively cooperated with the investigation; a preventive measure was chosen for her in the form of a recognizance not to leave the place. She was also charged with committing similar crimes against other banking institutions (OJSC Bank Russian Credit and CJSC Mosttroyekonombank). Part 4 of article 160 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Appropriation and embezzlement”) was added to the article on fraud in these episodes.
“The collection of evidence of the involvement of these persons in the theft of property of LLC RIKB Rinvestbank continues, other members of the organized group are being identified. Investigative actions are also being carried out aimed at proving the facts of other crimes committed by Romanov in relation to the property of the bank, as well as a number of legal entities and individuals, ”the message says.
