In the Tver region, air defense missiles shot down a business jet, on board which allegedly was the leadership of the Wagner PMC, headed by Yevgeny Prigozhin and Dmitry Utkin.
Vladimir Rogov, a member of the council of the administration of the Zaporozhye region, chairman of the Zaporozhye public movement “We are with Russia”, said on Telegram that the fighters of the Wagner PMC, with whom he spoke, confirm the death of the founder of the company, Yevgeny Prigozhin, during the crash of an Embraer business jet in the Tver region. According to Vladimir Rogov, PMC commander Dmitry Utkin died along with Mr. Prigozhin.
The Fontanka publication reports, citing an anonymous source, that Yevgeny Prigozhin was on board the crashed plane. According to the publication, PMC commanders were also in the business jet. The Federal Air Transport Agency reported that Evgeny Prigozhin was listed among Embraer passengers.
The plane crashed near the village of Kuzhenkino, it was flying from Moscow to St. Petersburg. According to preliminary data from the Ministry of Emergency Situations, all ten people on board died. Emergency services told RIA Novosti that eight bodies were found at the crash site. Their details are not specified.
The cause of the crash has not been reported. The Investigative Committee of Russia opened a criminal case under the article on violation of the rules for operating an aircraft (Article 263 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). According to the Federal Air Transport Agency, the aircraft belonged to LLC MNT-Aero, which specializes in business transportation. According to the flightradar24 portal, we are talking about an aircraft with tail number RA-02795 - a private Embraer Legacy 600.
